Endometriosis is a chronic disease where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus as well. The consequences of this can be monthly or permanent severe pain, infertility and restriction in everyday life. The WHO estimates that 10% of people with uterus are affected. However, since the diagnosis often comes very late or not at all, this number may be significantly higher.
